What is Turmeric?


Turmeric is a perennial herbaceous rhizomatous plant that belongs to the family of Zingiberaceae, and its botanical name is Curcuma longa L. It is believed to originate from southern or southeastern Asia. Turmeric Powder is a spice that is made from grinding the Curcuma longa plant's roots, also called curcumin.
